Erik Dalén commented on PUP-7541   Re: Explore removing export / collect / virtual / realize syntax Sean Millichamp when compiling the catalog on a host you essentially only have the facts for that host as input, and those same facts can be queried from another host using some puppetdb query function. So any resource you could template up and export could instead be templated on the target host instead. So there isn't really any need to put the final resource into puppetdb and then collect it on a different host as you can just as well just create it on that host directly instead.
