Feature #4747: confusing error message when disk is full
http://projects.puppetlabs.com/issues/4747
Author: Alan Barrett
Status: Unreviewed
Priority: Normal
Assignee:
Category:
Target version:
Affected version: 0.25.5
Keywords:
Branch:
When the disk is full, attempting to create a file fails with an error like
this:
<pre>
err: //mymodule/File[/dir/filename]/ensure: change from absent to file failed:
Could not rename temporary file /dir/filename.puppettmp_1101 to /dir/filename :
File written to disk did not match checksum; discarding changes ({md5}xxx vs
{md5}yyy) at /etc/puppet/whatever.pp:66
</pre>
It would be nice if the message said something like this instead:
<pre>
Could not write to temporary file /dir/filename.puppettmp_1101: No space left
on device
</pre>
