This is useful for reporting. For example, using PQL to get a list of all node names + their os major release version: puppet query 'fact_contents[certname,value] { path ~> ["os","release","major"] }' But, what if I want to see the value of os.release? Expected Outcome Hitting the fact_contents endpoint for a path whose value is structured data (a hash or an array), should return that structured data as the value. e.g I'd expect to see this: puppet query 'fact_contents[certname,value] { path ~> ["os","release"] }' | jq [{ "certname": "pe-201730-master.puppetdebug.vlan", "value": { "full": "7.2.1511", "major": "7", "minor": "2" } }] Actual Outcome Searching against a non-leaf path returns no results.
