Bug #5167: genconfig makes misleading references to 'puppet master'
https://projects.puppetlabs.com/issues/5167
Author: Nigel Kersten
Status: Unreviewed
Priority: Normal
Assignee:
Category: documentation
Target version:
Affected Puppet version:
Keywords:
Branch:

$ puppetd --genconfig
# The configuration file for agent. Note that this file
...
# The user puppet master should run as.
# The default value is 'puppet'.
# user = puppet
...
# The main Puppet configuration directory. The default for this parameter
is calculated based on the user. If th
e process
# is running as root or the user that `puppet master` is supposed to run
as, it defaults to a system directory, bu
t if it's running as any other user,
# it defaults to being in `~`.
# The default value is '/home/nigel/.puppet'.
# confdir = /home/nigel/.puppet
...

etc. This is confusing. Not that the whole generation of every possible config
setting for all puppet applications isn't confusing in itself, but this is
particularly so.
