Previously we've discussed unvendoring which we're not quite ready to do yet though we're getting closer. In this case I think we can publish the boltlib module to forge by itself. Would that help you?

The proposed type alias for plan returns allows Hashes. It just prevents arbitrary datatypes.

type PlanReturn = Variant[Data, Error, Result, ResultSet, Target, Array[PlanReturn], Hash[String, PlanReturn]]
