Issue #5636 has been updated by James Turnbull. Status changed from Needs Decision to Accepted Assignee set to Dominic Maraglia
Dom - you might have some figures in due course. ---------------------------------------- Bug #5636: Documents about scaling should include rough measurements https://projects.puppetlabs.com/issues/5636 Author: Nick Fagerlund Status: Accepted Priority: Normal Assignee: Dominic Maraglia Category: Target version: Keywords: Branch: Affected URL: Although Puppet's performance is very dependent on hardware and on the types of modules being used, it would be nice to offer some rules of thumb for what a given set of scaling strategies can do. The [docs page on scaling](http://docs.puppetlabs.com/guides/scaling.html), for example, doesn't give much guidance on when you'll need to use which strategies. One idea that has been floated is to provide numbers based on reference hardware with reference modules. This could turn into a considerable project. Any other ideas about how we could describe relative performance? -- You have received this notification because you have either subscribed to it, or are involved in it.
