Issue #7683 has been updated by Daniel Pittman.
Vendoring code causes our upstreams to be unhappy with us. This can cause all sorts of strange side-effects for third party software, because they can end up installing our code, not the upstream ronn package, and getting a different version. (If we lead the distribution it can even have stranger effects.) Historically they have been happy if we modified the packages so they were not going to shadow the existing code, or if we kept it separate. That problem should be accounted in implementing this. ---------------------------------------- Feature #7683: A puppet man face that builds and displays manpages using a vendored copy of Ronn. https://projects.puppetlabs.com/issues/7683 Author: Nigel Kersten Status: Accepted Priority: Urgent Assignee: Category: Faces Target version: 2.7.0 Affected Puppet version: Keywords: documentation faces man help Branch: A puppet man face that builds and displays manpages using a vendored copy of Ronn.
