Issue #7305 has been updated by Nick Fagerlund.
I'm ambivalent about this. - **Hand one:** Leaving it be would serve as a sort of implicit documentation --- everything is built with faces, this is how it works when a face can operate on itself, here is (currently) the only example of a face with a default action. - **Hand two:** The help text for help and help help offer exactly one piece of enlightenment beyond the global help: the action help mentions the `--version` option, which isn't super-relevant yet. Other than that, they're totally extraneous. - **Hand three:** I think there's a pretty good case for just not giving a crap either way, because no one is actually going to USE `puppet help help help`. ---------------------------------------- Bug #7305: Funny output with `puppet "help"*n` https://projects.puppetlabs.com/issues/7305 Author: Randall Hansen Status: Rejected Priority: Normal Assignee: Daniel Pittman Category: Faces Target version: Affected Puppet version: 2.7.0rc1 Keywords: Branch: * "help" * 3 gives what looks like the help man page * "help" * 4 gives what looks like a man page template * "help" * 5+ gives us a couple broken error messages No matter how may "help" words we pass, output should be the same as `puppet help`. -- You have received this notification because you have either subscribed to it, or are involved in it.
