Looks like that check was added in commit:8e4a68983ca7605f7fdf9ea441c26eef9ff6b42e for #2169. I'm afraid that I don't actually know that much about Xen, but it looks like the fact always expected `/sys/bus/xen` to exist in both xenu, and xen0.
