Issue #5641 has been updated by Nick Fagerlund.
Okay, new info: the environment flag played nice with puppetdoc in 0.25.5, puppetdoc didn't work at all in 2.6.0, and environment was broken with it starting in 2.6.1; since then, you've had to specify the manifestdir/modulepath directly. WOO. This is now filed as #7907. ---------------------------------------- Bug #5641: puppetdoc documentation incomplete https://projects.puppetlabs.com/issues/5641 Author: Dan Urist Status: Accepted Priority: Normal Assignee: Nick Fagerlund Category: Target version: Affected Puppet version: 2.6.3 Keywords: puppetdoc documentation Branch: Affected URL: I'm using puppet v. 2.6.3 on ubuntu lucid, installed from the puppet-backports repo at ppa.launchpad.net. When using environments, it seems "puppet doc" needs to be passed a "--environment" flag, but this isn't documented in "puppet doc --help". I only managed to figure this out by grovelling through old bugs and finding this: http://projects.puppetlabs.com/issues/2783 Are there any other undocumented flags? Also, it would be good if there were full documentation of all puppet sub-commands at http://docs.puppetlabs.com/guides/tools.html rather than the stub that is there now. The statement on that page that reads "Please consult the manpages to learn more" is also false; the man pages (at least in the Debian package) are stubs. -- You have received this notification because you have either subscribed to it, or are involved in it.
