Issue #7872 has been updated by Ben Hughes. Status changed from Unreviewed to Accepted
---------------------------------------- Feature #7872: 301 redirects would be more helpful than manual redirects and improve SEO https://projects.puppetlabs.com/issues/7872 Author: Michael Halligan Status: Accepted Priority: Normal Assignee: Category: Target version: Keywords: documentation, seo, redirects Branch: Affected URL: docs.puppetlabs.com has a number of obsoleted/moved documents which require a user to click on a link to find the document they're really looking for. How about replacing these with 301 redirects instead? For an example, use google's "I'm feeling lucky" feature to search for "puppet style guide". The first result is http://projects.puppetlabs.com/projects/1/wiki/Style_Guide/ which tells the user that the content has been moved to http://docs.puppetlabs.com/guides/style_guide. This should just be a 301 redirect. Fixing all of these would make it easier for users to find information through search engines. -- You have received this notification because you have either subscribed to it, or are involved in it.
