Issue #8002 has been reported by Nick Fagerlund. ---------------------------------------- Bug #8002: `refresh` commands in execs don't match their described behavior https://projects.puppetlabs.com/issues/8002
Author: Nick Fagerlund Status: Needs Decision Priority: Normal Assignee: Nigel Kersten Category: Target version: Affected Puppet version: Keywords: Branch: While looking at #6711, I discovered that the `refresh` attribute of `exec` resources doesn't work as expected. > #### refresh > > How to refresh this command. By default, the exec is just called again when > it receives an event from another resource, but this parameter allows you to > define a different command for refreshing. Nope: Puppet will actually run both the main command and the refresh command if the exec gets a refresh event. The description suggests that the refresh command will replace the normal one in the event of a refresh, which would make significantly more sense. I can change the documentation to match reality, but this seems like a case where reality is wrong. -- You have received this notification because you have either subscribed to it, or are involved in it.
