Issue #8204 has been updated by Jeff McCune.
# Additional Information # In order to provide a low barrier to entry and reduce the number of hoops the end user needs to jump through, the end user should also not be required to upload PE into their own S3 bucket. Puppet Labs should provide PE in our S3 bucket and allow anyone using AWS to download the installation tarball. NOTE: This will cost us money. ---------------------------------------- Feature #8204: CloudPack should install PE from S3 not an SSH upload https://projects.puppetlabs.com/issues/8204 Author: Jeff McCune Status: Unreviewed Priority: Normal Assignee: Category: Target version: Keywords: cloudpack Branch: Roadmapped: No # Overview # Consider the situation where the end-user is on a low bandwidth internet link or the end user wants to launch 100 instances at once. In these situations, it is cumbersome to upload the entire PE installation tarball over SSH. The EC2 instances launched by Cloud Pack should be able to pull down and install PE using an Amazon S3 HTTP URL. This will also save on bandwidth costs and has a number of other benefits. -Jeff -- You have received this notification because you have either subscribed to it, or are involved in it.
