Issue #2476 has been updated by Nigel Kersten. Status changed from Needs Decision to Investigating
There are a cluster of tickets around this, and we've brainstormed several times on the list, but no-one has yet come up with more appropriate names as far as I can tell. ---------------------------------------- Bug #2476: The --test option to puppetd is very confusing (and sometimes dangerous) https://projects.puppetlabs.com/issues/2476 Author: Ben Hearsum Status: Investigating Priority: Normal Assignee: Nigel Kersten Category: executables Target version: 2.7.x Affected Puppet version: 0.24.8 Keywords: Branch: The --test option to puppetd is commonly and easily assumed to be "show me what changes you WOULD make if run without --test". For people new to Puppet, it's very easy to make this mistake and sync up with the master before you intend to. I think it would be much better to call it something else. -- You have received this notification because you have either subscribed to it, or are involved in it.
