Issue #3419 has been updated by Tobias Kirschstein.
Status changed from Closed to Re-opened
Target version changed from 0.25.5 to 2.7.4
in OSX lion his problem pops up again, due to the issue still not being fixed
there.
the culprit lines in
/opt/local/lib/ruby/gems/1.8/gems/puppet-2.7.3/lib/puppet/util/suidmanager.rb
are:
-------------------
def groups=(group list)
if osx_maj_ver == '10.6'
return true
else
return Process.groups = grouplist
end
end
module_function :groups=
-------------------
suggested fix:
if %(10.6 10.7).include?(osx_maj_ver)
that did it for me.
----------------------------------------
Bug #3419: OS X 10.6 Ruby can't set supplementary groups
https://projects.puppetlabs.com/issues/3419
Author: Nigel Kersten
Status: Re-opened
Priority: Normal
Assignee: Nigel Kersten
Category: OSX
Target version: 2.7.4
Affected Puppet version: 0.25.4
Keywords:
Branch:

nigelk$ sudo ruby -e "old_groups = Process.groups; Process.groups = old_groups"
-e:1:in `groups=': Invalid argument (Errno::EINVAL)
from -e:1

This causes suidmanager to blow up.
I'm marking this to be fixed for 0.25.5 unless anyone violently objects. It's a
platform bug yes, but look at all the stuff you guys do for RHEL :)
