Issue #5687 has been updated by Nigel Kersten. Target version changed from GA to PE 1.0
---------------------------------------- Feature #5687: Document how things are different from normal puppet vs puppet enterprise https://projects.puppetlabs.com/issues/5687 Author: Corey Osman Status: Closed Priority: Normal Assignee: Nick Fagerlund Category: documentation Target version: PE 1.0 Keywords: Branch: Affected URL: Affected PE version: I would like to see some sort of bridge documentation that details how things are different with normal puppet and puppet enterprise. Mainly just the differences that would prevent people from getting started. 1. Where configuration files are placed. 2. Do I need to mess with anything in /opt/puppet? 3. How do I make changes to the puppetmaster? 4. On redhat there used to be a /etc/sysconfig/puppet file, whats the equivalent? Things like: # We moved your configuration folder /etc/puppet --> /etc/puppetlabs (I was previously running 25.5 from EPEL) # Maybe a sentence saying: we have centrally moved the files folder to /etc/puppetlabs for your convenience /var/lib/puppet/files --> /etc/puppetlabs/files (standard docs suggests /var/lib/puppet) # I was not sure where to put my manifest files at first (looked in /opt) then found /etc/puppetlabs All manifests files should be placed in /etc/puppetlabs/manifests -- You have received this notification because you have either subscribed to it, or are involved in it.
