Under https://github.com/kwilczynski/puppet we have to distinct approaches.

First that catches Errno::EINVAL assuming that we are on OS X:

issue-3419-1 e14b5f8de8c7dea95db89a97c047aabd0c005505

Second simply introduces an array of major versions for look-up:

issue-3419-2 27c2cfb162e5ffffdb5535ea5e8848aba8ba810f

Which solution / branch would you like me to use to create a pull request? :-)

Bug #3419: OS X 10.6 Ruby can't set supplementary groups
https://projects.puppetlabs.com/issues/3419

Author: Nigel Kersten
Status: Accepted
Priority: Normal
Assignee: Nigel Kersten
Category: OSX
Target version: 2.7.4
Affected Puppet version: 0.25.4
Keywords:
Branch:

nigelk$ sudo ruby -e "old_groups = Process.groups; Process.groups = old_groups"
-e:1:in `groups=': Invalid argument (Errno::EINVAL)
        from -e:1

This causes suidmanager to blow up.

I'm marking this to be fixed for 0.25.5 unless anyone violently objects. It's a
platform bug yes, but look at all the stuff you guys do for RHEL :)
