I have installed puppet on my new OSX 10.7 machine 
I have installed Puppet version 2.6.8 from a gem 
and facter 1.6.0 installed from a gem 
my puppet.conf file is as follows

[main] 
vardir = /private/var/puppet 
logdir = /var/log/puppet 
rundir = /var/run/puppet 
ssldir = $vardir/ssl 
pluginsync = true 
factpath = $vardir/lib/facter 
[puppetd] 
classfile = $vardir/classes.txt 
localconfig = $vardir/localconfig 
</pre>

I try to run puppetd with the following command. 
`puppetd --server puppetserver --test`
