Issue #5789 has been updated by Nigel Kersten.

Assignee set to Gary Larizza

We can, but there are some issues with the work people have done to implement
the binary format, and we can get away without it and still achieve significant
performance improvements.

Gary has been working with Mosen on this lately. Assigning to him as I believe
he's in the middle of patches to improve this.

Author: Nigel Kersten
Status: Accepted
Priority: Normal
Assignee: Gary Larizza
Category: provider
Target version:
Affected Puppet version:
Keywords: mac launchd service provider
Branch:

We shouldn't be parsing everything twice, and it appears that piping to
/dev/stdout is particularly slow on OS X.
