Issue #10179 has been updated by Berry Sizemore.

I downloaded the zip file found here:
https://github.com/adrienthebo/facter/zipball/ticket/1.6.x/7038-safe_prtdiag_output_checking_in_zones
which send me a zip file named
adrienthebo-facter-Iteration-2011-02-02-286-g6ad8030.zip

Here is what I get when I execute facter:

luser: /usr/local/bin/facter --version
1.6.1

luser: /usr/local/bin/facter --debug
Caught recursion on kernel

Bug #10179: Could not run Puppet configuration client: Could not retrieve local
facts: private method `split' called for nil:NilClass
https://projects.puppetlabs.com/issues/10179

Author: Berry Sizemore
Status: Accepted
Priority: Normal
Assignee: Adrien Thebo
Category: library
Target version: 1.6.x
Keywords: facter,
Branch:
https://github.com/adrienthebo/facter/tree/ticket/1.6.x/7038-safe_prtdiag_output_checking_in_zones
Affected Facter version: 1.6.2

I am currently running SunOS 5.10 Generic_144488-17 sun4v sparc
SUNW,SPARC-Enterprise-T5220 with puppet-enterprise-1.2.3-solaris-10-sparc and
/usr/local/bin/facter --version 1.6.2. I have successfully signed the
certificate from the host.

When I review the logs I see the following error:

puppet-agent[14512]: [ID 702911 daemon.error] Could not run Puppet
configuration client: Could not retrieve local facts: private method `split'
called for nil:NilClass

I had this problem with with facter 1.6.0 and pe-1.2.1 and it was suggested I
upgrade to the above versions of the software.
