Issue #10410 has been reported by John Warburton.
----------------------------------------
Bug #10410: Puppet agent documentation clarification - onetime and waitforcert
interaction
https://projects.puppetlabs.com/issues/10410
Author: John Warburton
Status: Unreviewed
Priority: Normal
Assignee:
Category: documentation
Target version:
Affected Puppet version: 2.6.12
Keywords: puppet agent waitforcert onetime
Branch:
According to lib/puppet/application/agent.rb, waitforcert is disabled if
onetime is called, and waitforcert is not explicitly called:
waitforcert = options[:waitforcert] || (Puppet[:onetime] ? 0 : 120)
However, the documentation at
[http://docs.puppetlabs.com/man/agent.html](http://docs.puppetlabs.com/man/agent.html)
makes no reference to the default of waitforcert being disabled if onetime is
called
This is possibly related to issue #3644
I was getting this error message on initial server build with "--onetime"
against a slow puppet server:
err: Could not request certificate: execution expired
Exiting; failed to retrieve certificate and waitforcert is disabled
