Issue #11330 has been updated by Daniel Pittman.

Category set to inventory service
Status changed from Unreviewed to Needs Decision
Assignee set to Nigel Kersten

Nigel, this seems like a reasonable request at the face of it, but I think
there is hidden complexity around user expectations - I would put money on, for
example, some users being very surprised if we implemented this the other way.
Can you make the final call on handling this?

Bug #11330: puppet node clean does not remove records from inventory_nodes
https://projects.puppetlabs.com/issues/11330

Author: Rob Terhaar
Status: Needs Decision
Priority: Normal
Assignee: Nigel Kersten
Category: inventory service
Target version:
Affected Puppet version: 2.7.6
Keywords:
Branch:

I'm working with the Puppet inventory REST API, and noticed that several old
node records remain in the inventory_nodes table that I have previously cleaned
using `puppet node clean`

I would expect that along with exported resources, the inventory data would
also be cleaned by using `puppet node clean`
