Issue #12085 has been updated by Daniel Pittman. Status changed from Unreviewed to Accepted Priority changed from Normal to High
It would be great to fix this, along with other strange behaviour around our `run_mode`, in a way that is going to work in the longer term. ---------------------------------------- Feature #12085: The application name 'apply' is hardcoded and no other application can get comparable behavior https://projects.puppetlabs.com/issues/12085 Author: R.I. Pienaar Status: Accepted Priority: High Assignee: Category: Target version: Affected Puppet version: Keywords: Branch: I wanted to implement some custom behavior to 'apply' but any change to the application name forces it into a mode where it tries to fetch files from remote nodes. Even just renaming the application without changing any code other than it's name has the same result. Looking through the code it looks like this is happening in puppet/file_serving/indirection_hooks.rb. The name property is of course read-only so it isn't obvious how to hack around this hardcoded behavior. Would be good if users could write custom apply tools, I had a look but could not find any face that suggests it might be possible to do as a face. -- You have received this notification because you have either subscribed to it, or are involved in it.
