Issue #11914 has been updated by Dean Wilson.

Here's a first pass at the code needed to make this work -
https://github.com/deanwilson/puppet/tree/issue-11914

I'll try and get to the tests after FOSDEM if no one else does.

Feature #11914: Service resource should have env attribute
https://projects.puppetlabs.com/issues/11914

Author: Hunter Haugen
Status: Accepted
Priority: Normal
Assignee: Kelsey Hightower
Category: service
Target version:
Affected Puppet version:
Keywords: service, env, environment, exec, simplefix
Branch:

The exec resource has an `env` attribute to set environment variables for the
exec. It's a common requirement for services with custom
start/stop/status/restart commands to also need to set environment variables.

It would be great if the `service` resource had an `env` attribute.
