Nigel, you ay the problem of plugins in modules not working anymore in 2.6.0 has been fixed? Which comment leads you to believe that? I am running 2.6.12 and I'm seeing the same issue. When I apply my development environment it is correctly finding a new firewallchain type from a branch of puppetlabs-firewall. When I apply the production environment (with the modules directory with the exact same contents) I get Could not evaluate: Could not retrieve information from environment production source(s) puppet://puppetmaster/plugins I quite like the approach proposed in http://projects.puppetlabs.com/issues/4409#note-55 -> separate plugin directories per environment. You should probably copy or reference that note in #12173 because it seems the only straightforward workaround for this bug.
