Issue #13338 has been reported by Chris Price. ---------------------------------------- Feature #13338: consider making ":type" parameter required for settings. https://projects.puppetlabs.com/issues/13338
Author: Chris Price Status: Needs More Information Priority: Normal Assignee: Category: Target version: Telly Affected Puppet version: Keywords: Branch: As part of #7749, I've moved the typing for settings to something a good deal closer to "strongly typed" than it was previously. We no longer use any regular expression stuff to try to "guess" what type a setting is based on its value. The current behavior is basically: "If you don't explicitly specify a type, then it's a :string". Personally, I'd be in favor of getting rid of even that fallback, and making :type mandatory. Perhaps this could be discussed and we can get some consensus, and then this ticket can either be closed or acted upon... the implementation would be trivial. -- You have received this notification because you have either subscribed to it, or are involved in it.
