Issue #13918 has been updated by Daniel Pittman.
Category set to dependency graph
Status changed from Unreviewed to Needs More Information
Affected Puppet version set to 2.6.16
Hey. I tried, and I can't reproduce that with a simple pair of defines that
directly include content:
<pre>
define a { notify { ["A0", "A1", "A2", "A3", "A4", "A5", "A6", "A7", "A8",
"A9"]: } }
define b { notify { ["B0", "B1", "B2", "B3", "B4", "B5", "B6", "B7", "B8",
"B9"]: } }
a { "one": } -> b { "two": }
</pre>
That makes me wonder about the definitions you have, and if you are seeing
another [manifestation of the anchor pattern
problem](http://projects.puppetlabs.com/projects/puppet/wiki/Anchor_Pattern) in
your code.
Could you supply a practical manifest that demonstrates this failure, or check
if the anchor pattern fixes it?

Bug #13918: Resources defined in custom definitions are not bound in the graph
https://projects.puppetlabs.com/issues/13918#change-61075
Author: James Fryman
Status: Needs More Information
Priority: Normal
Assignee:
Category: dependency graph
Target version:
Affected Puppet version: 2.6.16
Keywords:
Branch:
Example:
I have two definitions (A and B), and I want to order the execution of custom
definitions in this manner.
A { $foo: } -> B { $bar: }
The ordering in the graph for A and B are correct, however all resources
defined in each of the definitions are not contained in the same behavior as a
class. Thus, all of the declared resources inside B may or may not happen in
the correct order.
Tested on the 2.6 branch.
