Issue #14958 has been updated by Ken Barber.
Status changed from Unreviewed to Needs More Information
Try:
puppet module search foo --color=false
Its documented here:
<http://docs.puppetlabs.com/references/2.7.13/configuration.html#color>
I think this is more of a documentation issue in relation to configuration
options in Puppet in general.

For example I've tried to use puppet module search output as input for puppet

Downloading from http://forge.puppetlabs.com ...
/usr/lib/ruby/site_ruby/1.8/puppet/forge.rb:55: warning: character class

Error: premature end of regular expression: /^Module

Error: Try 'puppet help module install' for usage
e.g. something like --no-color parameter would be nice.
