Issue #8098 has been updated by Giles Constant.
In other words, I only ever put resources in their own file if it's init.pp and no other classes/types. If it can't go in init.pp, it MUST go in a class. That's my standard. ---------------------------------------- Feature #8098: Ability to autoload modules/modulename/manifests/modulename.pp https://projects.puppetlabs.com/issues/8098#change-66088 Author: Giles Constant Status: Rejected Priority: Low Assignee: eric sorenson Category: Target version: Affected Puppet version: Keywords: module autoload filename Branch: Hi! It would be cool if you could autoload foo/manifests/foo.pp instead of init.pp. Why? Well, I've got about 8 files open in this editor, and they're all called "init.pp" which makes it difficult to switch between them using the keyboard to auto-complete their names. It forces me to use the mouse. Even then, I can't always remember which one to click on. It's a slight drain on productivity when you can't find the file you want to refer to! Of course, you could just put an import statement in init.pp, but that might discourage people from doing it, and if it isn't considered recommended behaviour, people probably won't do it.
