Issue #15716 has been updated by eric sorenson.

Status changed from Needs Decision to Closed

If I understand correctly, you want namespace hierarchy to imply container /
ownership, and it doesn't. Check out #8040 for the long discussion on why.

Refactor #15716: Require with class
https://projects.puppetlabs.com/issues/15716#change-69185

Author: Kiril Varnakov
Status: Closed
Priority: Normal
Assignee: eric sorenson
Category: metaparameters
Target version: 2.7.x
Affected Puppet version: 2.7.18
Keywords:
Branch:

Hi. I building class with subclasses, for example:
<pre><code class="ruby">
class pdns::config {

  case $pdns::backend {
    'ldap': { include pdns::config::ldap }
  }

}
</code></pre>

And if i set "require => Class["pdns::config"]" somewhere in the other
resource, this resource does not become dependent on the subclass. Why?
