Issue #17122 has been reported by Josh Cooper.

----------------------------------------
Bug #17122: Warning when enumerating windows users and groups
https://projects.puppetlabs.com/issues/17122

Author: Josh Cooper
Status: Accepted
Priority: Low
Assignee:
Category:
Target version:
Affected Puppet version: 2.7.19
Keywords: windows windows_adsi
Branch:

When running `puppet resource group` on a windows domain controller, I'm seeing:

<pre>
warning: Group Cert Publishers found in both windows_adsi and windows_adsi;
skipping the windows_adsi version
warning: Group RAS and IAS Servers found in both windows_adsi and windows_adsi;
skipping the windows_adsi version
warning: Group Allowed RODC Password Replication Group found in both
windows_adsi and windows_adsi; skipping the windows_adsi version
warning: Group Denied RODC Password Replication Group found in both
windows_adsi and windows_adsi; skipping the windows_adsi version
warning: Group DnsAdmins found in both windows_adsi and windows_adsi; skipping
the windows_adsi version
</pre>

Apparently, there are local and domain groups with the same name:

<pre>
C:\work\puppet>wmic path win32_group where (name='DnsAdmins') get name, domain,
localaccount
Domain           LocalAccount  Name
WIN-QP47VOHA2P4  TRUE          DnsAdmins
BIZARRO          FALSE         DnsAdmins
</pre>

The user and group providers don't restrict their WMI queries to localaccounts,
so we get duplicates:

<pre>
      wql = Puppet::Util::ADSI.execquery("select * from win32_useraccount")
      wql = Puppet::Util::ADSI.execquery( "select * from win32_group" )
</pre>
