Issue #17083 has been updated by Jordan Emmorey.
Eric, I believe RHEV and oVirt are KVM only. It would make sense to me to label them as such. Please let me know if you need any further information (and sorry for the delayed response). Thanks! Jordan ---------------------------------------- Feature #17083: Add virtual and is_virtual support for RedHat Enterprise Virtualization / oVirt in facter https://projects.puppetlabs.com/issues/17083#change-78614 Author: Jordan Emmorey Status: Needs More Information Priority: Normal Assignee: Jordan Emmorey Category: Target version: 1.6.x Keywords: Branch: Affected Facter version: The latest facter source still classifies RHEV and oVirt virtual servers as physical. Please extend this piece to properly identify RHEV and oVirt as virtual. Please let me know if you need any further information to help classify these types. #dmidecode snippet
Handle 0x0100, DMI type 1, 27 bytes System Information Manufacturer: Red Hat Product Name: RHEV Hypervisor Version: 6-3.el6.centos.9 Serial Number: 44454C4C-4200-1052-8050-C4C04F4E4B31_00:15:17:af:f8:02 UUID: 7482A6FC-A601-4688-AD5E-36FED697408F Wake-up Type: Power Switch SKU Number: Not Specified Family: Red Hat Enterprise Linux
# lspci
00:00.0 Host bridge: Intel Corporation 440FX - 82441FX PMC [Natoma] (rev 02) 00:01.0 ISA bridge: Intel Corporation 82371SB PIIX3 ISA [Natoma/Triton II] 00:01.1 IDE interface: Intel Corporation 82371SB PIIX3 IDE [Natoma/Triton II] 00:01.2 USB controller: Intel Corporation 82371SB PIIX3 USB [Natoma/Triton II] (rev 01) 00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Cirrus Logic GD 5446 00:03.0 Ethernet controller: Red Hat, Inc Virtio network device 00:04.0 Communication controller: Red Hat, Inc Virtio console 00:05.0 SCSI storage controller: Red Hat, Inc Virtio block device 00:06.0 RAM memory: Red Hat, Inc Virtio memory balloon
-- You have received this notification because you have either subscribed to it, or are involved in it.
