Issue #18129 has been reported by Etienne Perot. ---------------------------------------- Bug #18129: systemd provider not working on Arch Linux https://projects.puppetlabs.com/issues/18129
Author: Etienne Perot Status: Unreviewed Priority: Normal Assignee: Category: service Target version: Affected Puppet version: 3.0.1 Keywords: arch linux, systemd, service, provider, sysvinit, systemctl Branch: Arch Linux recently made the transition from sysvinit to systemd. As such, Puppet's default provider for the `service` type should be `systemd` on Arch Linux. There's two issues with the current version of Puppet available in Arch's AUR (3.0.1 as of this writing): 1. If no provider is specified, Puppet currently uses `init` as provider, which is wrong. 2. If the `systemd` provider is explicitly specified, Puppet will complain that it is not functional, because it is looking for `/bin/systemctl` whereas it is at `/usr/bin/systemctl` under Arch. -- You have received this notification because you have either subscribed to it, or are involved in it.
