Alex, sorry about this.  Hailee and I talked about this and we couldn't find 
the patches and the pull request URL was giving a 404 error, so I told her it 
was OK to close it out.  Thank you for taking the time to let us know it 
shouldn't have been closed out.

We're trying much harder to make sure pull requests don't languish for months 
and months now.  Since February, we've been making sure all new pull requests 
have a response and clear next actions within a few days.

How did we get it to re-appear?  Did we re-create the 1.6.x branch to get it 
back?
