Issue #21320 has been updated by Patrick Carlisle. Target version set to 3.2.3
---------------------------------------- Bug #21320: Puppet daemon may sleep for 100 years after receiving USR1 on 64 bit systems https://projects.puppetlabs.com/issues/21320#change-93257 * Author: Patrick Carlisle * Status: Unreviewed * Priority: Normal * Assignee: * Category: * Target version: 3.2.3 * Affected Puppet version: 3.2.2 * Keywords: * Branch: ---------------------------------------- Due to a bug in Ruby 1.9.3 and earlier, an interrupted select call may be restarted with an invalid value (near 2**32). (Ruby always tries to restart interrupted select calls, unlike the normal behavior of the system call.) This is fixed in 2.0.0 <https://github.com/ruby/ruby/commit/b10c3136b0163536a679b10fecbc2992f3b5fa64>. Since the puppet scheduler uses select to sleep, sending a signal to trigger a run (usually with mcollective) can trigger this bug. -- You have received this notification because you have either subscribed to it, or are involved in it.
