Issue #22205 has been reported by eric sorenson. ---------------------------------------- Feature #22205: Manifest order should be selectable by a setting. https://projects.puppetlabs.com/issues/22205
* Author: eric sorenson * Status: Accepted * Priority: Normal * Assignee: Andrew Parker * Category: * Target version: 3.3.0 * Affected Puppet version: * Keywords: * Branch: ---------------------------------------- There've been enough concerns about the scope of impact in changing manifest ordering (#18508) that it seems unwise to release it as the default in a non-major release. This should have been in the original spec, but it seems the order should default to the current #6911 behaviour but be selectable to manifest order by a setting. In the next major release we'll change the default (and potentially remove the #6911 behaviour, though that's TBD). The thought's been raised that it could be helpful to have other algorithms pluggable such as a pure-random order to smoke out unexpressed dependencies, but that's not in scope for this. -- You have received this notification because you have either subscribed to it, or are involved in it.
