----------------------------------------
I have a fact that retrieves some information about packages on a Debian system
with this code (mainly for inventory purposes):
pkg = Puppet::Type.type(:package).new(:name => '...')
v = pkg.retrieve[pkg.property(:ensure)].to_s
Since 3.3.0, this produces warnings for packages that are not installed, for
example:
Warning: Failed to match dpkg-query line "dpkg-query: no packages found
matching php5-common\n"
I see that this warning has been added to provider/package/dpkg.rb, in the
'parse_line' method:
else
Puppet.warning "Failed to match dpkg-query line #{line.inspect}"
return nil
My feeling is, that warning level is way too severe for this type of message.
It causes big fat red lines when I trigger a manual agent run. I think 'debug'
would be a more suitable level.
Unless I'm doing things I shouldn't be doing...
