Issue #15016 has been updated by Charlie Sharpsteen.
Redmine Issue [#15016](http://projects.puppetlabs.com/issues/15016) has been migrated to JIRA: <https://tickets.puppetlabs.com/browse/PDB-135> ---------------------------------------- Feature #15016: Improve warning message for invalid UTF-8 byte sequences https://projects.puppetlabs.com/issues/15016#change-101419 * Author: Chris Price * Status: Accepted * Priority: Normal * Assignee: * Category: * Target version: * Keywords: * Branch: * Affected PuppetDB version: ---------------------------------------- Currently, when the puppetdb termini convert a string to UTF-8, any invalid byte sequences trigger a warning message that simply says "Ignoring invalid UTF-8 byte sequences in data to be sent to PuppetDB". It should be fairly easy to provide a bit more context in these messages, which would perhaps allow users to determine which resource(s) triggered the warning. Without this context, it can be difficult for a user to identify whether or not the offending resource is one that will cause problems for them, and/or to locate and correct it. -- You have received this notification because you have either subscribed to it, or are involved in it.
