Additionally, I can get the expected graph if I manually supply the tags. class testmod { anchor { 'testmod::begin': } Anchor['testmod::begin'] -> Package <| tag == 'testmod' |> package { 'git': tag => 'testmod' } package { 'curl': tag => 'testmod' } } Without understanding Puppet internals, it looks like what might be happening is the collectors are being evaluated before the automatic class tags are added. As a user, I think it should be possible to collect resources based on automatically added class tags. This would be the Principle of Least Surprise resolution.
