Daniel Dreier commented on an issue   Re: netbsd support 13594 has a patch for useradd.rb inline in the submission to fix the user provider in netbsd, but this needs more information because it's unclear whether this is still a real problem and whether anyone is interested in fixing the user provider for NetBSD / OpenBSD if it doesn't work. 9586 has extended discussion on the issue as it manifests in OpenBSD, including another patch suggestion. 9586 was marked as accepted but it's not clear there's been progress since then. I'm marking this a bug rather than a feature request because NetBSD and OpenBSD are listed as supported platforms and this seems to significantly impact the utility of puppet on those platforms, if it's still a valid issue. Add Comment   Puppet / PUP-1241 netbsd support So far NetBSD basically works but the first hurdle is finding a working user provider. useradd works except for 'chage'. usermod the same stuff as chage, but might be less convenient. I patched useradd.rb to make useradd_netbsd.rb like this* but I was wondering if there wasn't an easier way to override has_features or have usermod as an alternative...
