There are quite a few bugs and feature requests open against the nagios types, and it seems to be known (at least within the community) to need major work. It seems like moving it out of core and making it a module would be the first step to getting this done. I've only tried to do (nagios) templates with the *nagios_host* and *nagios_service* types but it's likely to affect some of the others, if not all of the nagios types. heres an example: <pre>...
