Andrew Parker commented on an issue   Re: Change from "environmentdir" to "environmentpath" I think we are talking about two different things here. I was under the impression that there was a desire for being able to have the environments in multiple different directories and so the singular environmentdir isn't sufficient. The solution was to have an environmentpath that is just a list of directories to look for environments in. This is a separate issue, in my understanding, from the problem of having more control of the the individual environments' modulepath. I got the impression for the need for the environmentpath by reading item 1 at https://tickets.puppetlabs.com/browse/PUP-536?focusedCommentId=38922&page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel#comment-38922 . There is still the issue of item 2 (specifying a module search path specific to the environment). TL;DR what I had in mind was what Joshua Partlow said in his first comment on this ticket. Add Comment   Puppet / PUP-1551 Change from "environmentdir" to "environmentpath" There is likely a need for having multiple directories to hold environments. This can be done by changing from a single {{environmentdir}} to having a list of paths as an {{environmentpath}}.
