After the fix, the CA certificate contains the Authority Key Identifier and the master and node certificates contain a Authority Key Identifier that refers to the CA's Subject Key Identifier. Add Comment   Puppet / PUP-1409 add an authorityKeyIdentifier extension to node certificates while working on the two other bugs regarding the puppet CA conforming to RFC 5280 I've also added a very simple change to have the CA add the authorityKeyIdentifier extension in order to make certificate verification path building easier and to conform with http://tools.ietf.org/html/rfc5280#section-4.2.1.1 recommendation.
