Henrik Lindberg commented on an issue   Re: EPP ignores code after parameter declaration The first example in the report should indeed result in syntax errors if the intent was to declare parameters and continue - here rewritten to use the pipe syntax now adopted instead of () around parameters: notice(inline_epp('<%= |$x| $x + 1 %>', { x => 2 })) The issue here is that it is a "render _expression_" EPP tag that contains the parameter declaration - that is not allowed. Now that we changed to pipe syntax, the error is reported as a syntax error on the first pipe. When we used parentheses ($x) is a valid _expression_ (it evaluates to value of $x), but ($x, $y) is not a valid _expression_, and it correctly reported this for the ','. The change to using pipes means that the second example given also will produce a syntax error for the first pipe instead of at the comma. One problem remains though, the _expression_: ($x) $x + 2 Should either be validated as in error because it is a sequence of a no-op dereference of $x, followed by a value, or produce the expected value 3.
