Andy Parker commented on an issue   Re: Deprecate 'implicit' environment settings and update packaging After some investigation here is what we need to do: For manifest, modulepath, and config_version: A deprecation warning is produced when set in puppet.conf A deprecation warning is not produced when specified from the command line. A deprecation warning is produced when they are looked up or set as settings (e.g. Puppet[:manifest]). The templatedir, manifestdir settings need to be completely deprecated (it isn't supported by the new environments). This is a warning when it is in puppet.conf, on the command line, or used in the code.
