Understanding what the search function even did took some doing, but I eventually figured it out.

                                                    class a::c {
  notice(c)
}
 
class b {
  search(a)
  include c
}

The {{search}} functions allows a scope to expand the set of searched namespaces used to find something referenced.

This does not seem to rhyme with deprecation / removal of dynamic scoping.
It should be deprecated in 3.6 and removed in 4.0 (PUP-2741).
