The conclusion there was: Since we're stumped and we don't have consensus on how to fix this, closing for now. If anyone figures out how to repro this, please add that to this ticket. I think once we have a clean repro procedure it'll be easier to sort out which is the best approach, whether copying the files makes sense, whether --force is safe, etc. Add Comment   Puppet / PUP-1972 pkgdmg can fail when ejecting disk images When ejecting disk images, if processes still have files open on the volume then the eject fails and anything that depends on the package will also fail to install.
