Joshua Partlow commented on an issue   Re: Block $environment in directory based environment configuration settings So Henrik and I had some discussion about this ticket earlier today in Hipchat; we might want to fix this in 3.7.1 or keep it on 4.0 and cherry-pick it into the 3.4.x pe-puppet branch to help people transitioning. I think we might be able to use the environmentpath setting as a feature flag to gate whether or not we make validation checks (if we try to do this in 3.7.x) It might become tangled though.
