Verified against c11546dc59fbe936d12f9a24293d2dd5419fe1c0. The pseudo variable calling_class_path is available and contains the path to the class, relative to the modulepath:

0 ~/work/puppet (master)  $ git rev-parse HEAD

c11546dc59fbe936d12f9a24293d2dd5419fe1c0

0 ~/work/puppet (master)  $ be puppet apply -e "include testing::binding"  --modulepath ~/work/modules --hiera_config hiera.yaml

Notice: Compiled catalog for ... in environment production in 0.05 seconds

Notice: calling_class_path: 'testing/binding'

Notice: /Stage[main]/Testing::Binding/Notify[calling_class_path: 'testing/binding']/message: defined 'message' as 'calling_class_path: 'testing/binding''

where ~/work/puppet/hiera.yaml contains:

---

:backends:

  - yaml

:yaml:

  :datadir: /Users/<user>/work/puppet

:hierarchy:

  - global

:logger: console

And ~/work/puppet/global.yaml contains:

testing::binding::calling_class_path: "%{calling_class_path}"

And ~/work/modules/testing/manifests/binding.pp contains:

class testing::binding($calling_class_path) {

  notify { "calling_class_path: '${calling_class_path}'": }
