Tried both with and without future parser (I think you are using future parser since you get an "Evaluation error"). Also tried various combinations with --stringify_facts true/false, and --immutable_node_data true/false. I tried this with: puppet apply -e 'if $facts['nowhere'] != undef {notice "not undef"} else {notice "undef"}' --trusted_node_data --parser=future Need more information to be able to reproduce this. Please verify that it is indeed 3.7.4 that is being used. Can you supply the .pp file you used to test with? Is the guess that you are using parser=future correct?
